What is T4 TimeSaver.NET?
We are pleased to introduce the second annual release of T4 TimeSaver.NET, a brand new version of the original T4 TimeSaver--rewritten from the ground up to provide a solid foundation for both current and future technology, as well as for upcoming product growth.
Why create a new version?
The original Windows version of T4 TimeSaver was designed in 1998 and has served our clients well. However, like all software, T4 TimeSaver needs periodic updates to take advantage of new advances in software technology. In addition, the new foundation we have built upon will allow us to add additional functionality such as new forms efficiently and easily.
Is the original T4 TimeSaver still available?
No. We first introduced T4 TimeSaver.NET in December 2007 for preparation of tax returns for the 2007 tax season. From that time until the end of the 2008 tax season, the original T4 TimeSaver and T4 TimeSaver.NET were available in parallel. The original T4 TimeSaver has been discontinued as of the end of the 2008 tax season and only T4TimeSaver.Net is now available.
How different is T4 TimeSaver.NET from the original version?
T4 TimeSaver.NET has been given a modern user interface while maintaining as much of the familiarity of the original T4 TimeSaver interface with regard to program usage and procedures. This release of T4 TimeSaver.NET contains all the features of the original software along with many new features and enhancements!
We have gone to great lengths to design a user interface that reflects the power of the .NET framework while retaining as many of the design features of the original T4 TimeSaver. Whether you are new to T4 TimeSaver or a returning client, you will feel right at home in the new interface.
What does the new version offer that the original version does not?
T4 TimeSaver.NET has a fresh look and some exciting new features you'll want to use: like saving slips and summaries as PDF files, improved printer compatibility, importing slips directly from Excel files, exporting data in a various file formats (e.g., Excel, PDF, CSV), and the ability to run in off-line mode (which allows laptop users to run the program even when not connected to the network, using local data and user settings. In addition, the partnership returns have been completely redesigned and are now accessible as a fully integrated set of forms.
Why did we call the new product T4 TimeSaver.NET?
Some of our customers have asked us if the .NET part of the name is a reference to the software's ability to submit information returns via the Internet. Actually, we borrowed the name from the fact that the software is written using Visual Basic.NET and runs on computers using the Windows .NET framework.
